ALL NANEZ BIRDS WILL BE SHIPPED FROM OKLAHOMA CITY
11 ARPU 98851 BB HEN G/DTR OF "KING KANNIBAAL" AND "LADY KANNIBAAL"
Third Annual Breeder Sale: For the past two years, between May & September, Nanez Family Lofts has offered a variety of birds that we ourselves had recently bred from. Starting this week, we will again make available a group of pigeons that just wrapped up their breeding season. Youngsters from several of these were sent to special races or sold in kits or individually. The vast majority of the birds being offered were not bred by Nanez Family Lofts; however a handful of them are yearlings that were bred by us for stock. Most of the birds offered, then, were brought in for varying stock purposes.
The primary reason for making these birds available at this time is due to our plan of bringing in a substantial unit of pigeons in the very near future. In addition, we -of course- continue to tweak our breeding program. This does not mean that we keep the good ones and pass-on the junk. We absolutely will not offer a pigeon to the public simply because we need to recoup our investment in it! We think this is distasteful and is a very low standard for the sport. In the Dec- Jan “beginner giveaway,” we sent 319 gift-birds to 81 beginners. Among those pigeons were one-loft prize-winners, a dam to 5 top one-loft performers, the dam to a 1st National Ace Pigeon, siblings & children of our top performers etc. Others were birds we had bought, traded for, brought back from one-loft races or, of course, simply “experiments.”   Our point is- we don’t sell breeders because they have proven to be of little worth or give away pigeons because they are of even less worth. That’s not the way we operate.
In the last two years, several of the babies we sent out, won top positions in club, combine, one-loft & futurity competition- after we sold their parents in our Summer-Fall sales. That doesn’t bother us in the least; rather, it feels great to have sold a pigeon that the buyer can be proud of! That, really, is what we want for our clients- satisfaction. Based on this, if you buy a pigeon at auction and don’t like it, return it within 7 days for a full refund [original shipping included]. If for whatever reason, a bird does not initially produce for you [i.e. infertile], let us know and we will refund your full purchase price & shipping cost. We find it very distasteful when a fancier pawns off a pigeon that he/she suspects [or knows] is going sterile. There are lots of names for this; we’ll just call it “dishonorable.” You take no risk with us, fertility-wise, when purchasing a pigeon with some age under its belt. We should all strive to raise the bar on this issue.
So, peruse the birds at auction over the next few weeks, pick up a good deal in the off-season, and bid with confidence. Sincerely- The Nanez Family.
