One of my goals as a breeder has been to keep select families intact; and not only keep them intact, but breed them into even better genetic pools and performances. This has been the case with the small colony of Merckx Janssens in my loft.
*** This male results from a concentrated breeding of Old Merckx Janssens that cross with virtually any performance proven family. He will breed strong offspring when paired with a well-bred hen.
*** It is difficult, if not impossible, to find these bloodlines in North America or Europe today. Serious students of the sport recognize that this is the foundation blood of many European champion lofts.
*** A number of lofts offer Janssens for sale. I have to laugh when I seen white Janssens, grizzles and splashes. There were never any whites or grizzles in the Janssen loft. Only a handful of reds were in their colony.
